Now
McClellanville still lives by fishing, shrimping and oystering. Surrounded by Francis Marion National Forest, it reaches south to the Intracoastal Waterway beside Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge, where the old Cape Romain lighthouses stand.
Hampton Plantation State Park is about 10 miles north, on the Santee delta, where the South Santee stations are.
