Sponsor terms

What you get
- One labeled line, “[Town] tides are presented by [Your Business]”, linked to your site. A short line in your own words and a small logo (shown in the site's colors) are optional.
- It appears on the town page, every tide station page in that town, and the town's daily and weekly tide emails.
- You are the only presenting sponsor for that town while your sponsorship is active.
- A monthly count of clicks through to your site, from the website and from email.
Review
We review every sponsorship before it goes live, usually within one business day. Sponsors should be local businesses in or near the town. If we can't accept a sponsorship, we cancel it and refund the payment in full.
Your content
You confirm you have the right to use the name, wording, link and logo you give us, and that they're accurate and lawful. We may edit for length or style, and may decline or remove content that is misleading, offensive or unrelated to your business. You can ask us to change your line or link at any time.
Billing and cancelling
- Sponsorships renew automatically each month or year, whichever you chose, until you cancel.
- Founding sponsors keep the price they signed up at for as long as the sponsorship continues without a break.
- Cancel any time from the billing link in your welcome email or by writing to hello@tidesandtowns.com. Your line stays up through the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Payments for periods that have started aren't refunded.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Our part
We keep sponsor lines clearly labeled, never place them inside the tide data, and don't track visitors for you. Tide predictions come from NOAA and aren't for navigation; we don't guarantee any number of views or clicks. If we ever stop offering sponsorships in a town, we'll refund any unused prepaid time.
